The favourite view in the UK is from Snowdonia. Not everyone would agree, but most people certainly would. The recent poll that was taken indicated that Snowdonia fought off several other options to win the title of the favourite view in the UK. There is a place in Snowdonia called the Aberglaslyn Pass where the River Glaslyn cuts its way through the mountains. It was named as being the most beautiful landscape in all of Britain. Areas of the Lake District came in a close second but were no match for Snowdonia. Because the economy has been so dismal of late, the poll was partially taken to encourage people to get to thinking about their local area. They might not want to travel so much because of the cost, but most of that applies to travelling to other countries. If they remember what makes their own country so special, they are more likely to go and take a look at some of those things. Of course, you can't convince everyone to do this, but the hope is that enough people will do it that the economy will be buoyed by it and it will hold its own until more travellers from other places also start to trickle back into the country.
For people who don't have a lot of money to travel far from home, or for people who simply don't want to take a long vacation to somewhere else, there are staycations that they can really enjoy in their own country, and Snowdonia is one area that is great for that. There is much to do there, and now that the area also has the UK's favourite view there is just one more good reason to go and see Snowdonia, discovering it for the first time or rediscovering it all over again. No matter which of those you'll be doing, you can get breathtaking views of the River Glaslyn and many other areas that are associated with Snowdonia. While visiting Snowdonia, however, take time to remember that there are other beautiful places in the country that are also very much worth seeing.
