Whale Watching in Washington - San Juan Islands Whale watch and wildlife tours aboard the classic 65' yacht, "Odyssey" using environmentally friendly biodiesel.
Experience the thrill of seeing orca whales, California and Steller sea lions, harbor seals, bald eagles, Dalls and harbor porpoise, gray whales (during the spring), bald eagles, pigeon guillemots, sea gulls, black oyster catchers and great blue heron in their natural habitat.
During the warmer months, May through September, three pods (families) of orcas make the waters surrounding the San Juan Islands their home. The Southern Resident Community (J, K %26 L Pods) have been coming to the San Juan Islands for thousands of years because of the nutrient rich seas which draw salmon, making it a perfect feeding and breeding ground for the orcas. There are currently roughly 80 orcas and each spring brings new calves to the pods.
